Copy XPath
The Copy XPath command is available in Text View and Grid View, and creates an XPath expression that locates the currently selected node/s in the document, and copies the XPath expression to the clipboard. This enables you to paste the XPath expression into a document (for example, in an XSLT document). All expressions start from the document root. For example, if an element called LastName of the third Person element of the second Company element is selected, the XPath expression tha is copied would be: /Companies/Company[2]/Person[3]/LastName
Note: | In Grid View the Copy XPath command can also be accessed via the context menu. |
