Convert XML to CSV

Convert XML to CSV easily using drag and drop in MapForce

A common problem is converting XML to CSV and other text formats such as FLF. To get started, simply insert one or more source and target data formats in the data mapping pane. If you do not have an XML Schema associated with an XML component, MapForce can generate one for you based you a sample XML instance document.

In the design pane, it's easy to drag and drop to associate XML and CSV fields for conversion and add functions and filters for data manipulation.

When converting XML to CSV, supported CSV delimiters are commas as well as tabs, spaces, semicolons, or a custom value.

In addition to CSV and FLF files, mapping to or from text files with more complex or custom structures is possible using MapForce FlexText. Legacy text files may contain useful data in CSV or FLF formats inside a more complex flat file. FlexText allows you to directly extract such data using the CSV and FLF operations. After applying Split and other operations, you can store remaining CSV- or FLF-formatted fields by configuring the field names, lengths, etc. for easy mapping to or from XML and other formats.

Convert XML to Excel

Customers often need to convert XML to Excel spreadsheets. MapForce makes it easy to define sophisticated data processing rules to write XML to Excel OOXML. Excel versions 2007 and higher are supported.

MapForce will display a graphical representation of the Excel file structure, so it's easy view rows, columns, and cells, as well as references to numbers and names. This component includes clickable icons which allow you to define and specify mappable data for the XML to Excel conversion.
