Introduction
The Altova EIOPA (Solvency II) XBRL Add-in for Excel (or EIOPA Add-in for short) is targeted at businesses and organizations that submit EIOPA data in XBRL format as part of the EIOPA regulatory framework for insurance and pension companies.
EIOPA (Solvency II) XBRL Add-in enables stakeholders in the EIOPA process to do the following:
•Enter EIOPA data in Microsoft Excel using a predefined template spreadsheet which maps to the EIOPA XBRL taxonomy
•Validate report data directly in Excel to ensure it conforms to the EIOPA XBRL taxonomy
•Export EIOPA reports from Excel to XBRL format
•Import data from existing EIOPA XBRL reports into Excel
•Batch convert XBRL files to Excel format (Enterprise Edition)
The list of supported XBRL taxonomies is regularly updated to include newer versions, independently of Altova add-in releases. Country-specific XBRL taxonomies and older EIOPA taxonomy versions are not installed by default when you install the add-in. You can view, install, upgrade, and uninstall taxonomies on demand, using the XBRL Taxonomy Manager.
The add-in supports the following EIOPA taxonomies:
•EIOPA Supervisory EIOPA reporting (version 2.0.1 up to the most recent version)
•EIOPA Supervisory reporting for Pension Funds (version 2.30 up to the most recent version)
In addition, the following country-specific taxonomies are supported:
•BOE Insurance: Bank of England Insurance Taxonomy
•CBI EIOPA: Central Bank of Ireland SolvencyII NST
•DNB FTK: De Nederlandsche Bank Financieel Toetsingskader
•DNB VNS: De Nederlandsche Bank VNS
•NBB Insurance: National Bank of Belgium IRI
